Strategy Backtesting in TraderCodeConnectCode is proud to announce the release of TraderCode version 4.0, a comprehensive suite of technical indicators and technical analysis functions for use with Microsoft Excel. This latest version includes a new Backtesting Expert to perform strategy backtesting and performance analysis.
Backtesting is the process of testing a trading strategy using historical data and analyzing how well it has performed. The trading strategy typically involves the use of technical indicators. Through the study of the performance of the strategy, a trader will be able to better gauge his odds of winning in the current market conditions.
The Backtesting Expert can be setup to enter into Long or Short positions when certain conditions occur and exit the positions when another set of conditions are met. By trading automatically on historical data, the model can determine the profitability of a trading strategy very quickly and easily.
This new version also introduces the Trader's Calculator for calculating Stock Beta, Jensen’s Alpha, Porfolio Risk and Assets Correlations of stocks automatically. The calculator is based on a spreadsheet and can thus be easily expanded or integrated with existing trading process. With this information, a typical user is now equipped with the information and tools in an integrated manner that was once only available to a financial analyst.
